When I was looking into converting my .avi files I searched for hours to ind the best program. I tried a couple myself which again took forever to convert and couldn't be doing with it, so I scrapped the idea. However, if you have the time have a look at Win AVI or DVD Santa, I have heard that they are quite good and fast as well.

Whats the specification on your PC? The faster the PC the faster the convert should be. Hope this helps a little.

Your PC might be a spec similiar to mine. I think that when I tried Win Avi it said it would convert in about an hour, which isn't to bad at all!! But I just gave up on the idea. Give Win Avi and DVD Santa a go and let us know how you got on with the times etc.

WinAVI is the FASTEST that I have come across!

VSO DivXToDVD probably comes in second place for me. Not nearly as fast as WinAVI, but seemed to be faster than DVDSanta on my system. DVDSanta is a good converter also though. It was just slowest of these three when tested on my system.
