Im tryin to convert some avis to mpeg2 dvd im using Xilisoft AVI MPEG Converter. But when the film is done encodeing the picture looks stretched. I've tryed 352x240 352x480 704x480 and 720x480 and none of them turn out like the orginal picture. Anyone know what i can do?? Thanks in advance.
You can not Go bu what the Video Looks Like when Viewed on your PC useing something like Media Player because Media Player Plays Videos useing there Resolution were your DVD Player displays Video useing the Aspect Ratio which will look Totally different that when displayed useing the Resolution...The only way to get a Proper Representation of How the Video will look when Viewed on your TV set is to either useing a Software DVD Player Like PowerDVD or WinDVD or to Play it on your DVD Player...... If it still look wrong when Virewed on a software DVD Player then the Problem is Probably that your Encoder doesn"t properly Resize the Resolution for you in which case you would Have to encode the AVI file again but useing a Encoder that has Proper Resize settings and you should be useing that Crappy encoder anyways because it will only Produce sub Par results becayse it doesn"t have certain Settings and Features that are needed for Proper Mpeg encodeing.... I suggest you use something like "Tmpgenc" to encode which should resize your Files Correctly and if not Let me Know and tell me the Resolution of your Source AVI file and I will tell you how to Properly resize it to DVD resolution while Kepping the Original Aspect ratio...... Cheers
