AVI / WMV sound removal

Hi
i have some avi & wma files that are in both english & japanese (english from left speaker, japanese from right) is there a program that will allow me to manipulate the sound file - remove the japanese & replace with the english.
i usually use nero to convert avi etc to dvd but cannot see any options within nero to remove the japanese track.

any help is appreciated
