Hey all, I've got an xvid AVI file that I'm trying to convert into a SVCD using avi2dvd, the process goes through the sound conversion without a hitch howevever it gets stuck with the video, i recive an error as soon as start up with the message:

    "AVIsynth Open Failure:
AVIsource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xvid"

followed by the path of the movie I'm encoding. I know that i have the codec installed partly because windows media payer plays the file without a hitch and partly because gSpot says the codec is installed.

    Anyone know whats up?

What it is telling you is that you do not have the XviD Codec installed so it can not read the File...

If you have the DivX Codec installed then you will be able to play the File and Gspot will say that there is a Proper decoder installed but AVISynth is Probably looking for the XviD Codec not the DiVx Codec so (re)Installing the XviD Codec should fix the Problem...

You can also try installing the "FFDShow Decoder" and Configure it to decode all formats which should also work....

    Good luck
