When working with Avi2Dvd I get the following error message from ‘HCenc’

Error, AVISource: couldn’t locate a decompressor for fourcc XVID

    Hope someone can help.

Do you have Xvid installed, on your PC? Any AVI need its codec (DivX or Xvid).
Please note: Xvid is free, DivX, if used only for DECodic purposes, is free, too.
Or you can install some 'general decompressor' like FFDShow (which I don't like, because it 'manipulates' too much the Directshow filters used by my PC).

Hi. I've got K-lite codec full pack installed. Am I right in thinking xvid comes with that? If not where can I get it? Thanks for your reply.

I really hate codec packs. Since both Xvid and DivX are free (DivX is free for decoding purposes only), why should I bother to get a codec pack?

    Xvid codec: http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/
    DivX codec:
    http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/download/

I'm sure you'll manage to view your AVI files (unless they are corrupt. In this case, get a movie checker/fixer like VideoFixer or DivxFix).

Haven't solved the problem with avi2dvd yet, but did manage to convert using nero vision express. Thanks for your help.
