    Hiya,

I am coming to the end of my patience with something now. I have been trying via different methods to encode a DivX encoded AVI to MPEG and keep getting erros with A/V synch. The video length is reported in different programs with different values?? In AVICodec it seems to subtract ten seconds off a two hour long film? Not every film, just this one??

Could there be a problem with a codec I have? or could it be some error that has occured during the AVI > MPEG conversion?

AVI to MPEG maybe a common conversion.
First can the original file be played on your pc?
Check the codec for avi, maybe you can reinstall it.
Then you can try other programs.

Or, maybe, AVICodec obtaind its information by the audio, which is maybe ancoded VBR instead CBR.

Open the AVI with VirtualDub and do File___File Information.

In the FAQs you'll be able to find a way to solve the 'VBR audio' problem, if there is.
