I have used two different programs to try and convert an AVI to DVD, but both programs give me the same error after they're done encoding the audio. It's getting frustrating and i cant find a solution. The Error is as follows: AVISource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xvid (C:\Program Files\The FilmMachine\Output\TFM_Avisynth_Script_File.avs, line 2) The Film Machine is the program in used to convert, and Avi2DVD gave me the exact same error message. I have no idea what i need to do to fix this please helpe, Thanks.
But, have you the Xvid codec installed on your PC? AVI files , opposite to mpeg files, are compressed in a way which need a CODEC to traslate it. The most common codec are DivX and Xvid. If you don't know about these stuf I'm afraid you'll have to study a lot...
Oh ok yeah, I need a Xvid codec I guess, b/c I didnt rip the movie on this computer. So what and where can I downlod the codec for Xvid if that's all I need. And then once I have the codec installed on my computer, it will work fine on its own right?
XVID: http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ DIVX: http://www.divx.com (get a free trial, it's enough to decompress AVIs). You're a little lazy, aren't you?
