So I tried the different steps you put up to fix the problem on my computer and when i tried step 5 with the spybot, half way thru the scan my computer's monitor "clicked" off, then on and when it came back on there were many different color lines on the screen, computer froze on that screen and the only way out was to unplug my computer and reboot it. did this several times when i tried to perform step 5, therefore i uninstalled spybot from my computer since it was causing more problems. the no disc error message i keep receiving is a bit different, reading: windows no disc exception processing message c0000013 parameters 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c 7cc31d6c continue try again cancel do you know what that message is? i get it when i am in the middle of checking emails, running a scan or surfing the net, not trying to do anything that involves a disc...i have looked all over microsoft.com and can't find anything showing that error message...is there anything other than these steps you have listed that i can do in order to fix my computer? also, since getting this message, it takes me 25-30 clicks before i can get it to get off the screen, and since getting this error message my computer has also started showing the "low virtual memory" message...how do i fix that? thanks for listening, fav51013
