I Have managed to get all the VTS 1 files to hard drive and can play the movie from there. When I try to burn the dvd with nero, it says dvd file allocation error, dvd may not work, so I wrote it as a data disk, My stand alone dvd player would not recognise the disk. I have since used dvd decrypter to copy the VTS-1 files to hard drive again but it had to be done as a file copy because just letting it extract the main movie results in a read error. Before I write the dvd is there anything else I should do. The movie is only 72 minutes long so it will fit on the DVD without compression. Ady
1st, get all the software u need setup. u need DVD Decrypter or smartripper to rip the dvd. Then get DVD20NE to compress the ripped dvd to fit on one dvd-r.(follow the instructions on DVD2ONE website, how to use. i then use nero express to burn to dvd-r. never failed to back up a dvd yet. quality A1.
Forget all that, unless you like doing things the hard way. Use DVD shrink. One step process of decrypting, compressing, etc without any need for other software. Then just drag and drop with Nero and you should have yourself a backup in no time.
Thanks Tosca, DVDshrink would not even read the disk, it would fail at 88% with a cycle redundancy error. Job done though, dvddecrypter to rip all files for VTS-1 to hd, patch ifo's and bup's the use dvdshrink reading the iles from hd, write with nero. at last it works
