i hope i'm in the right forum here... i've tried making backups of a few files i have on my external that are over 1GB each. for some reason, when i insert the disc and try playing them afterwards, it either doesn't do anything or it just freezes up (i can't even right-click on them). how could i back these files up on a dvd+r without having to break them up using winrar? i would like to just play them off of the disc instead of unzipping them onto my drive. thanks.
hmm, well, let's see... i'm running windows xp (sp2) and the files i'm trying to back up to disc are all video files (avi, mpg, mp4), although i'm sure i would run into the same trouble if i backed up anything over 1GB. i've tried burning this using several programs (nero, burn and go, cd burner xp pro, etc), but i always get the same results. what other details would you need in order to help? thanks.
again, if somebody could tell me what additional details i would need to list other than what i've mentioned above, please let me know. i thought this was more a problem with windows than with my system.
