Attempting to backup some orginal 360 Games using xboxbackup creator V 2.3 and Schtrom360Xtract V 3.1. Don't want to have to reconnect my xbox drive to the PC cause I don't have SATA. Had to flash it at a friends house. However it is my understanding that the PC drive needs to be flashed in order to read the xbox games to rip them. I have no idea how to do this and all the tutorials I have read have glanced over this fact. How do I flash it what happens when I flash it. Does it affect its ability to do other tasks such as burning other things? Sorry for being a total noob.

PC drive = Lite On DVDRW SHW-160P6S.
Media = Fuji Film DVD + DL.

Once this is complete I should be able to rip and burn.

Please also let me know which of the two programs is easier to use

    Thanks

attempting to see if I can use this burner to rip my xbox games. I don't have a SATA controller and cannot hook my xbox up to my pc. Had to use a friends. Can I use this burner to rip or will this not work. What would be involved in getting it to work? Would it ruin my burner?

    Thanks

You can only use the following DVD Rom drives to rip 360 games:
Samsung SH-D162C/SH-D163A or the drives from the 360 itself (must have hacked firmware)

The above Samsung drives can be found on ebay, and MUST be flashed with the Kreon firmware.

    What is easier to use

    1)xboxbackup creator V 2.3 OR

    2)Schtrom360Xtract V 3.1.

Need something that I don't need to fiddle with to get it to work

They're roughly the same. Both are easy to use.

When you connect do you need to do anything like go into modeb. Or is it just connect and rip. What about settings or crack files. Does it do it automatically. All I have to do is rip and burn?

    Thanks
