Does anyone know of a really good guide that someone has put together? Say one guide for people that are beginners, intermediate and advanced users. Or even better one of each type of guide? Thanks
Only the beginner guide would be of much use; there are thousands of these on google if you do a simple search. I would recommend a good one, but as a non-noob, I really don't know what guides are best to teach noobs. That said, you should be able to assemble a PC using nothing but the manuals that come with the parts, and this piece of advise: Always use arctic silver 5 thermal paste; throw away the cheap crap that comes with the CPU cooler...and if there is a "thermal pad" or pre-applied paste on the cooler, remove these and clean up the base. Then, apply an even, fully covering layer to the top of the CPU. Keep it thin...you should be able to make out the lettering through the paste.
I wouldn't ever advise noobs to change thermal paste. They don't need to, and it's among the more fiddly jobs to do, as well as being more likely to go wrong, with potentially bad consequences.
lol, got bored so let's go comment on old forums XD. first in good history, i disagree i say change that thermal paste from day one, get over the giddy nature that many take...i literally had to drive 4 hours to my cousins to break him of his fear of it! (he wanted his mom to do it, sadly i kid u not) smart kid...but i've seen squirrels with more balls then him...actually those squirrels can be ballsy...i've seen roaches with more balls! that's better. but yeah you haven't built a computer till u put thermal paste on the cpu XD. unless u got ahold of some of that nivec stuff...gotta get some of that. anyways back on topic, if u got any pressing questions about building the pc pm mei get on once in a while so i'll probably possibly get it answered for u. oh and bc my brother in law did this with the computer he built my wife...DON'T FORGET THE F*CKING SPACERS!!!nearly burnt my house down D:
