I am curently editing 3/4" video tapes for our local TV public access channel. I am using the facilities at the TV station to copy a HQ produced Lecture tape onto a DVCAM tape and then adding some local organizational information onto the end of the tape for broadcast. The problem is that the local TV station is quite some distance from my house, so I am looking for an alternative to this editing task. I am wondering if I can: 1) go to the TV station and copy the 3/4 NTSC tape onto a DVD. 2) bring the DVD home and do the editing on my PC, creating another DVD for broadcast (will need help here also, for video editing software suggestions) 3) go back to the TV station and copy the DVD onto a DVCAM tape, which is the media required for the local broadcasting input Will this work. Are there any resolution problems, etc. I assume that once I get the tape onto a DVD, that everything will be digital from that point, and there are no weak points there. Am I missing something. Thanks. Ron
I have never taken VHS to dvd, but I've heard that when you do it, the file will be huge even if the quality is low.
