hey i just want to backup tombraider... all the contents is more than 4.3G ... so i only want to backup the movie and one sound and no subtitle... so i just want the bear minimum... will that fit on a 4.3G? dvdr... i know there serveral programs that do that.. things link dvdxcopy xpress..and dvd2one... however.. do those program transcode or in other words eoncode the movie again? coz i want the best video quality and dun want to encode the movie again? whats the best method to do what i want? thanks
Hi mrkyle! Use DVD Shrink (get it here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_shrink.cfm) and this guide (http://dvdshrink.info/reauthor_basic.php). In the drag'n'drop phase simply select the largest file, which is the main movie and follow the guide, and you'll have your back-up in notime! Hope this works for you!
in case the movie itself is larger than 4.38 Gb, it will compress the movie so that it will fit one disc. You will probably not be able to see any difference in the image quality compared to the original, if you do a "movie-only" backup. If the movie fits the disc without compression, then DVD Shrink just strips all the unwanted stuff away and leaves the movie as it is, ready for you to burn it the disc.
