I am not sure how much the firmware would affect the performance of a third-party source like a battery power-pack, but I suggest you check with the Belkin website, and see if it can shed any light on your situation :)

It may apear that the iPod isnt charging but it is, there just isnt enough juice to get the charging screen! Leave the battery pack pluged in of at least 15 min and see what happens!

Domreis, if you plug a charger into an iPod, it will charge it up. The backlight will iluminate within 10 seconds, and it will be very apparent that it is charging. If you don't get any reactions at all, then leaving it 15 minutes won't make a difference.

It odse when you battery is completly dead, and you are charging via USB! The guy at the Apple store told my freind to try this and eventualy the charging screen came on! I figure it may be the same way with the Battery Pack! It dosent do this when you are useing your wall charger because there is enough power! This has also happened to me and I tryed leaving it on for 15min and the screen came up!
