I bought the benq dw1655 (brand new) from an eBay store. I have Windows XP on my computer, but the installation driver software that was sent with the package is for Windows 98. I went to the driver download section of the benq site, and when I ran the benq auto detect link on the driver download page, this is what I got:
    Device:
    Combo BC04832IM Firmware version: FF4C
BenQ DVD LS DW1655 Firmware Version: BCDB

Now, when I run the BCDB Zip execute file to download the driver, I get this message:
    BCDB Alert! No device found
When I click OK, it brings up my flash tool screen and the only thing it shows under driver is "my computer", but when I try to click on my computer, it does nothing.... not even underlines my computer.

Can someone PLEASE help me get the driver installed in my system!!!
    Thank You!

You shouldn't have to download any driver for XP ... With both of my BenQs (on different PCs) all I did was to install the drive in the PC and fire the PC up .. XP recognized the drive and away I went ...

I had a problem with xp not recognizing my drive although it showed up in the bios, so I changed the cable and everything worked fine. but about your problem you can uninstall the driver in the device manager then restart your system to see if that works

    Hi,
Not only check connections & try uninstalling via device manager. Then letting Windows reinstall. Check jumper settings are correct. Is the BenQ set as Master or Slave on your setup? Do the jumper settings match?
