Okay, after reading recently about the many features of the BenQ dvd writers, I believe I am going to pull the trigger. Yes, I believe I am convinced. My thoughts leading up to this are that I have always been a DVD-R user. However my neighbor had some kids movies he wanted backed up, so I did that over the holidays for him. Of course they would work in all my DVD players. But neither of his. So I read about how the BenQ could booktype DVD+R's and you could bypass this problem. I've always stay'd away from the +R's because of the price. I have a Epson R300M and print directly on the dvd (doubt I ever use the lightscribe feature). I rarely see the +R printable quality media at a decent price. However you do see the -R consistently on sale. Figure I'll just shell out the extra $$$, I think it would be worth it in the end.

Here is the one I found from shop4tech. I have a 10 percent coupon, so the total is $62 shipped.

Here are several questions I have.

    1. I thought I read that the BenQ didn't write so good to -R. Can anyone say yay or nay?

    2. Another reason I would like the drive is to check how good my burns are. Will I still be able to check my -R's I've already done (my current drive doesn't support this)?

    3. Anyone have any reasons why I shouldn't purchase this or a cheaper place to purchase?

    4. Is there any BenQ externals that you would recommend?

Any other comments are always welcome.

    Thanks,
