stick with AVG 7 Free. You'll be hard pressed to find anything better. Norton is absolute crap. AVAST is also pretty decent you could give that one a try

Use BitDefender... avg has a hard time catching running trojans..
If you know how to use Hijack this! I would use it.

the best to remove trojans? Hmmmm.....

There's always one sure fire method... and it's free as well....

    C:\Fdisk
    C:\Format

ok sorry mate.. I know your looking for a software solution but sometimes the above IS the best way (if not the most secure way).

I myself use Ghost (yeah I heard the above posted "Norton's is crap" comment lol) to make periodic backups of my C-drive just in case something nasty happens. That way regardless of what happens today...23 minutes later I've got a 'clean' system disk back to whichever image I install to.

Sometimes just to be sure I haven't backed up anything 'nasty' that's hidden I even use my image taken just after a format and full re-install do all my updates for MS and Norton, re-install whatever new programs I have decided to keep since then... and then make a new image from there. That way I always have a 'guaranteed' clean image with the most current updates and software installs I use...

Again... I know that the above is not what you wanted to hear... but it is some good advice to help you recover wuicker the next time.

you do know that there's an edit button to change your typo, you don't have to make a second post...

try running avg in safemode. does avg tell you were the trojan is located & did you try to delete it manually either in normal or safemode??
