Zonealarm is fantasic. Norton is horrible! If you want to protect your computer, uninstall it immediately. AVG free is better for many reasons. First, its FREE. Second, it uses half the system resources as the memory-hungry norton usues. Third, it finds way more viruses than norton. I used to use norton, until I found out about AVG. When I ran AVG for the first time, it found SEVEN viruses, two of which were trojans! Norton is crap...

I use Trend Micro PC-cillin. Not had any trouble yet. Had Norton once, got a virus in under 15 seconds on the internet, in spite of it been up to date! Needless to say I binned it!
There are SO many people who have Norton & have problems with it! Only yesterday a work colleague asked what I know about viruses, 'cos he has one, he has Norton installed! I had a guffaw at his expense!
AVG is extermely popular with all who use it.

I also have Norton AntiVirus 2005 and it's doing ok. Not all AntiVirus is 100% secured -- each has their own good and bad side. And of course you'll also need other free alternatives such as CCleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy, CWShredder, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Microsoft AntiSpyware, AVG Free Edition.

I find Sygate Personal Firewall (free) to be a very useful tool, it monitors both outgoing and incoming traffics.

As far as paid for, I have TrendMicro on one computer, and Nod32 on the other. I would say Nod32 is the better of the two, however, TrendMicro is more user friendly. Both update definitions almost daily. I also use MS-Antispyware, Ad-aware SE, and Spybot S&D.

The thing I like about Norton is that it also finds Spyware that other Programs don't!
