I'm looking for the best CD ripping app to rip music from CD to HDD. I want it to be able to ripp it to either .wav (high quality) or .mp3. I have tryed a few but most only rip to .mp3 or just cd to cd. It doesn't matter if its freeware or boughten software I will take both. Thanks
yup, and we even have a step by step guide here on how to install and configure EAC, along with installing the external LAME encoder, for the best quality possible. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm
Thanks, I will try it out. I'm currently using Blaze CD Ripper and it works pretty good, but I will try this other one. Thanks again. Snipster
takes a few minutes to install and get configured, but once you get the hang of it its easy, and WELL worth your time. its the only ripper to offer error correction, resulting in 100% accurate rips, and when combined with LAME, one of the best mp3 encoders using VBR bitrates, you will create the best sounding mp3s possible.
thanks alot for this ive just been hurting my ears all this time from using WMP X, all this time i thought that i wouldnt notice the quality change. Id have to say i wish i knew this sooner!
years ago I ripped all my CDs with CDex at 192k CBR. As an ex-dj, I have tons of CDs, and its taken me a few years to go back and re-rip all my CDs with EAC. I guess that saying "Do it right the first time..." comes into play here. Live and learn
I did something similar. I ripped 200+ CDs to Monkey's Audio then after several months and dwindling hard drive space I figured out that 192 VBR with EAC and LAME sounded just as good to my not so good hearing and only took up a quarter of the space.
I never tried monkeys, but I experimented with FLAC a little. Never was really impressed. The plugin for winamp didn't work, and if you're just using it to listen on your computer or portable player, mp3s are fine as long as they're done right.
I would like to see more support for MusePack! It sounds so good at it standard bit rate that It makes me mad that no portable player supports it. I know that MPC is garbage at low bit rates but what person who listens to music allot encodes at low bitrates? Ced
what does support musepack right now? isn't it only supported by proprietary players, or are there plugins for appz like winamp now?
I just downloaded and tested EAC... I love it, until now I was using dbPowerAmp which I was satisfied with because of the LAME encoding and before then I used Audiograbber... looks like I'll have to rip my CDs over!
The only way I use it is through the free [bold]RadLight MPC Direct Show filter[/bold]. But yes there is a Winamp 2/5 plug-in too! Link to both: http://www.musepack.net/index.php?pg=win Ced
