best dual format burner?

    whats the best dual format burner from the perspective of hacked firmware and widest compatibility with all the various dvd standards etc.

    Look no further than the Pioneer 107D :) It fits all your criteria to a "T".

    I'd also have to recommend the Pioneer 107 (its under $100 also).

    what about plextor 708A?

    isn't it better than pioneer 107?

    Quality-wise they're quite comparable.

    The Plextor will, however, let you rip discs at full speed out of the box, no firmware hack needed and is very good at backing up PC games as well.
