hi what will be the best converter thats converts regular DVD to H.264 ? and whwre i can download the h.264 codec is it built in the converter or i need to download separate ? thank you please advise
I use fairuse wizard lite. The free version will let you encode to 700 mb file (good for an h264), the paid version has multithreaded capabilitys and lets you encode to larger file sizes. You input files has to be in ISO format. It won't convert a video_ts folder. I use dvdshrink to backup my video_ts folder into an ISO. Fairuse wizard has very good cropping tools and will keep your video and audio in perfect sync everytime. It will also batch convert several ISO's at a time and will shutdown your computer when it's done. It has all the necessary built-in encoders. It's definitely the best converter available and the h264 quality is excellent. http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html
fairuse tops out at 720 even the paid version. You can try the free avidemux but it maxes out at 1400, the only encoder that can reach the 1900 setting you need is the free mediacoder it tops out at 1920x1080. Avidemux and mediacoder can process VOB's directly, no need to put them inside an ISO. The only problem with using such high HD settings is you need a quad processor otherwise the encodings can take 4 or 5 hours on a low speed cpu, even a dual-core will be very slow.
Xvid4PSP is my favorite encoding program. Don't let the name fool you, it encodes in many other formats other than Xvid and for more devices other than PSP. It will encode in AVC (H.264) in the .mkv, .avi, .m2ts, .mp4, etc. containers and in full HD (1080p). http://www.winnydows.com/news.php
@ ebega : is XviD4PSP working with ISO ? I have some on my PC and want to convert them in mkv/ac3,2 languages
, you don't have to because I said so! You can wait for an answer, which might take days, or never come; You can go on the software's website and read the documentation or post in their support forum and wait for an answer, or You can try it for yourself and see what happens. Good luck!
I`m stuck...What files should I choose to open? I have these : VIDEO_TS.BUP VIDEO_TS.IFO VTS_01_0.BUP VTS_01_0.IFO VTS_01_0.VOB VTS_01_1.VOB VTS_02_0.BUP VTS_02_0.IFO VTS_02_0.VOB VTS_02_1.VOB VTS_02_2.VOB VTS_02_3.VOB VTS_02_4.VOB VTS_02_5.VOB VTS_03_0.BUP VTS_03_0.IFO VTS_03_0.VOB VTS_03_1.VOB Can you help,please?
I don't use Xvi4PSP, but a good program would either work by opening the IFO, or the first VOB and it would automatically append the rest(like Avidemux). Or once you fire it up, might have a DVD tab, to open a disc.
It does not support .iso files, but extracting them or simply ripping them to folder would be your answer for that. It does have a DVD button that you can use to open either a disc or DVD folder, and will allow you to choose which title you want, generally you would want to choose the longest title. The method you are using is the method I usually use. Use the "open" button, then, judging by your list of files, choose VTS_02_1.VOB, it will automatically append the remaining vob files for that specific title set, just as cyprusrom suggested it might.
