Sorry if this is answered somewhere else, but I mod and use psp's and Wii's, but am now looking at doing my DS lite. What is the best flash card to use? I was buying and R4 card then I saw R4sdhc or something like that and cyclon. I want to start off on the right foot. All answers are welcome and appreciated.

Asked and answered several times a week.

    Everyone has their favorite.

    I own:

    R4
    EZ Flash V
    G6 real
    CycloDS

I would never buy or suggest that anyone buy anything that has "R4" in it's name.

CycloDS but that having been said:

    1)It is the most expensive

2)It has features that I want (Wii connectivity) that some people don't need

If I didn't need Wii connectivity I would buy the EZ Flash V+ or Vi

I would only be using this for games and no other purpose so the cheaper the better. When you say no R4 is that because you want it for other reasons? I mean is the R4 good for the games and sucks for everything else or just sucks in general? Thank you again for your help.

    R4 sucks in general, imho.

for just game play, starting at the cheapest price, dstt, acekard2, edge ds, ezflash v, supercard ds1, m3, cyclods and acekard rpg.

i think for your needs, i would go for an Edge DS.

all the cards are reviewed on www.gbatemp.net

I bought my R4 when they first came out. I keep it in order to support friends and family that are using them.

There are already compatibility problems with newer games that probably won't be fixed.

Dailun thank you for your response. Mary7 told me to look at the Edge and it is almost the same price as an R4 so I will play it safe and get the Edge. I want to be able to play the newer games so why worry about a few dollars more. I was trying to look into the ez flash, but didnt find good pricing like the edge. So if the edge is good and it plays the newer games that is all I am looking for. Thank you both again for stopping me from buying the R4. I am glad I asked before I bought. Hopefully the Edge is as good as the EZ Flash!

I like the EZ Flash V because it has built-in support for MY EZ Flash 3-in-1.

I was asked to assemble a "Pokemon rig" for someone that had all GBA and NDS pokemon games.

Although Rudolph's 3-in-1 tools is easy to use, the EZ V support for the slot 2 cart is even easier.

Dailun I think I am going to take your advice and get the EZ flash V. I have a ds lite so I should not get the ez flash vi right? Also have you ever came across any ds games the ez flash does not work for that say something else would? I just bought my 4gb sandisk sdhc for it so I am ready to buy a couple of these ez flashs. Please respond as soon as you can and thank you again.

I have since switched to CycloDS. I had not seen any problems with the EZ Flash V up to the point that I replaced it 3 months ago.

The makers of the EZ Flash V still support their product.

I wouldget at least an EZ FLash V+ since the original EZ Flash V doesn't support SHDC.

ezflash Vi works on both DS lite and the new DSi. some new games may not work with this but ezflash team updates the firmware very regularly, almost on a weekly basis.
i uses supercard ds one for over a year now, i played many many many games, and only found ONE games didnt work on it, final fantasy crystlal chronicles ring of fate, untill new firmware was released about a week later :)
anyway, Edge or Ezflash V+ or Vi is a good choice. (pick the V+ not just V if EzFlash)
