I have hooked up my pc's audio and video to my living room and bedroom tv/sound system. I would really like to be able to use my mouse and keyboard in those rooms as well as in my office, the problem is that my bedroom is about 40 ft from my pc. I thought about running a usb wire to the rooms, but I understand that usb's maximum effective range is about 10-15 ft. I know I'm not the first to need this, any suggestions??? The best range keyboard/mouse RF and or bluetooth have a max range of 33 ft on the specs. Thanks for any help!!!
The Logitech MX5000 has up to a 60 foot range according to the specs of Bluetooth 2.0. At that range though, you will probably experience frequent dropouts.
Dropouts will be fine, though a little annoying. Basically it will just be for occasional web surfing, but mostly for controlling media on my PC. Thanks for the suggestion, I will check on it.
In case anyone else is looking for a similar set up, the Adesso WKB-4000US SlimTouch Wireless Mini Touchpad USB Keyboard uses a 2.4 ghz radio frequency that has a range of up to 100 ft!!! It's about $90 but well worth it for mobility purposes.
