i'm wondering what program i should use to burn a vcd to dvd with.. best meaning.. the easiest.. and most hassle free?
Ok, there is two ways to do this. 1. by making a DVD-VCD. 2. by converting the VCD to DVD-Video mpeg2 format. Go here for more information: http://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr.htm (You won't end up with better quality converting the video to Mpeg2 DVD Compliant video, even through it will take longer to do). If you want to make a VCD-DVD (vcd mpeg1 video on a dvd that plays in any dvd player that plays normal dvd-video discs), then here's a guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm If you want to convert the VCD to a real DVD-Video disc (mpeg2 video), You'll need an Mpeg encoder (I'd use TMPGenc Plus or Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder). And a DVD Authorer (I use TMPGenc DVD Author or DVD-Lab or DVD Architect or whatever). You can do it with free software like TMPGenc (mpeg2 encoding limit ed to 30 days) http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/tmpgenc.cfm And IfoEdit (DVD Authoring Software) http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/ifoedit.cfm Anyway, here's a guide for Converting the VCD to DVD-Video mpeg2: http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/54/59/ Either way you decide to do it, you'll also need some DVD burning software to burn the output files like Nero, although some of the paid DVD Authoring software will burn the DVD for you too. Hope that gets you started.
Yep ! There's no way to improve quality. Think of it like dinner. If you have some hamburger there's no way to make it into steak. Cheers,
