I've tried them all, and most of them don't work unless I put it down to 15 fps, 320x240 resolution at some low quality codec. Otherwise, the program crashes or I get many, many dropped frames. Anyone know how to capture higher quality video? Or is it my cheap capture card?

Defrag your HDD (do it regularly), use M-JPEG or Huffyuv codec and use AVI_IO as a capture software.

Well, it works but the video runs really slow. It says it doesn't drop frames, but it actually does. Now what?

It works fine now at 320x240 without any quality loss. I guess I don't need a higher resolution than that; it looks great in full screen. Thanks!
