    DVD Flick accepts .mkv files.
A standalone DVD player will show the 16:9 movie in letterbox on a 4:3 display.
    The quality will be mpeg2.

ConvertXtoDVD may output something better - but it's not free.

i usually use WinAVI 8.0 to convert, it support mkv, avi, rmvb,
Can choose the dvd/vcd/mpeg output, aspect ratio can change too.
