Not a big fan of celerons due to their minimal cache sizes...........the AMD will probably outperform it and also may be easier to overclock it...............just my 2 cents......
the AMD is a better chip then the celeron.....bigger cache sizes, and better quality..will benchmark higher then the celeron....go with the AMD
To be honest you probably won't notice the difference. However I would expect that the AMD will probably load up a little quicker............and also it'll probably overclock nicely well within specification...........
the celeron 1.7ghz is faster than the amd 1.3ghz but has only 128kb ram cache. also the 1.7 will run cooler with a stock fan compared to the amd
if u benchmark the two the AMD will outperform the Celeron.....and figure u spend what 25 dollars on a better heatsink....youll probably save more than that buying the AMD over the Intel anyways....so overall the AMD is better choice..
true that ddp....ther are some areas where Intel outperforms AMD but not many....and most of them arent crucial areas......
Tell you what always strikes me is that when you look at the AMD XP durons etc, the actual build of them looks so 'cheap' whereas compared with the celeron/P4, they do look like a more robust CPU. And the Semprons/64's now look more like the Intel ones......... I know it comes down to performance and not what it looks like, and what is underneath the shell that counts but my first impression always comes from the physical construction/appearance............
