I would use MS Word, just cause everyone has it making it easier to send around w/o worring about format. Also, MS word can read and even edit other formats.

But to be totally honesty I haven't used word perfect since 1997, so I have no idea what is has to offer now.

Out of those two Word. Another option to consider is Open Office I personally like it better

It also depends on what you're looking to do with it. If you're just using it to write letters, then use OpenOffice (it's free). However, if you're more advanced and you want to create VB scripts and link it with other MS products such as excel, then Word is probably your choice. As for which one offers better support, you'll find the most documentation for Word simply because it has the largest user base. It's the main reason that MS Office continues to stay so dominant, despite other software that is comparable.

nah dont get either. Oo_O was completely botched (graphically) for windows and is just a visual abomination. go for abiword if ur going to get a free word processor cuz its more a clone of MS word than OO (if thats what u want)

I just went with with MS Word because my friend had the Microsoft Office 2003 disc. Thanks for all your opinions.
