I finally, after hours and hours, got DVD copy to play on my computer. But won't play on my sony standalone. Should I try a different method (Decrypt, dvd2one, nero). Different media? (I am using memorex RW). Help please...i am on my last leg here
No you should not try different methodes. Just try 1 methode: DVD decrypter, DVD2one, Nero. In about 45min I have myself a perfect playing copy ! Check your DVD player compatibility by typing Sony and hit search... check the number and see what it can read: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers
Yep the sony players are a bit fussy. However lot of people have had success burning with recordnowmax to use on sony players!
I have no problems with Nero (in combination with DVD decrypter and DVD2One). Just choose the DVD-ROM UDF/ISO mode to burn your movie. Did about 20 of them this way and they all play fine on PS2 and 4 other Standalone DVD players...
That doesn't, however, mean they will play on everything. 4 is not a comprehensive survey. Nero can produce discs that will play on pretty much anything but it requires different setting for some machines. Prassi or Record Now Max will produce discs that play on everything (everything that should play them that is) on one setting. So for maximum compatibility or if you are having problems don't use Nero. This isn't just me advising this, it's a recognised fact that Nero doesn't produce universally compatible discs.
