Hi I am transferring VHS tapes through my PC then onto DVD, i know how to do it and have done it before, i have now encountered a problem with some tapes, they come out on the PC screen with a huge white band across the middle of the screen, so you can only see the top and bottom third of the picture. This doesnt happen on all tapes, just some. Would this be some kind of scrambler put on the tape to stop copying ?? If so would a Combined VHS/DVD stand alone recorder get around the problem, or is there another way to solve it ???
Ok i have figured out from various sources now this must be due to the Copyright Protection on the Video Tape. Is there any free Video Capture programs to download that will get around the problem of the copyright ?? Thanks in advance
