Hello everyone, so I am having so issues. My mom updated her bios how she did it I don't even know because she doesn't even know how to do it. Anyways now that the bios is updated the computer turns on however the screen doesn't. Its almost like its in a permanent sleep mode. I have no clue what to do or how to fix this due to I cant even see anything on the screen. The computer is an hp pavilion a1250n its running windows 7 professional 32 bit. any info on this would greatly be appreciated I am going nuts trying to figure this out. I have never had to deal with something like this. thanx in advance

Sounds like she realy screwed it up bad...it will probably need a new mainboard.

Here is something to try: plug the system into your network, start it up, and ping it to see if it is booting at all. I doubt it will, but you never know. If it does boot, you might be able to boot with a PCI video card.

"Anyways now that the bios is updated the computer turns on however the screen doesn't."

PLease explain this a little better (more detail)

Sound to me like the it's not even getting past POST.

If there's a HDD activity light, is it flashing like the HDD is active?
When you power on do you get the post-POST "beep"? (Some PCs no longer do this, though)

How does your mother know (think) that she updated her BIOS?
