hi i just got a asus a7n8x-x mobo and a 2400+ sempron ive been told that i have to update my bios. i try to do so with asusupdate utility under windows(winxp pro spk2). i download the latest revision for my board(v.1010) the prog updated reboot my pc and in bios boot up screen shows the new version(1010).. but still showing athlon xp 1000+ cpu instead of sempron 2400+. whats wrong? did i miss something? please help dr.xp abit nf7 athlon xp 2800+ gigabyte 3d cooler pro ---------- asus a7n8x-x sempron 2400+ gigabyte 3d cooler pro
did you go back into bios to change thing back to way it was before you flashed as some flashes puts everything back to default so you have to reconfigure. was this problem going on before flash???
well actually i didnt set default bios settings before i flash. this problem star yesterday when i change my old duron 1.13 for sempron 2400+. when pc boot for the first time after the cpu switch the bios display ¨¨athlon xp 1000 cpu¨¨
you misunderstood me, did you go back into your bios after you had flashed to reconfigure settings as sometimes will go to default
