ok so i softmodded my xbox with the krayze uxe installer, with the NTSC Splinter Cell Save. all went well, but it didnt say anything about bios. i selected a patcher but when i do bios check it says unknown, but on my friend it says X2. so anyways, WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE BIOS? ive heard of them so many times but i dont know what they are. im afraid something might go wrong on my xbox if i dont put these bios on soon...it still says microsoft whenever i turn on my xbox under the logo but my friend, who has xecuter2 bios says xecuter2. so could someone plz answer my question?
Well not to make you feal dumb or anything but your friend is using a modchip.. That means the chip boots his xbox using a hacked set of bios. Bios are otherwise known as Basic in/out system. It is basically the brain of the xbox. It tells the processor how to handle data input and output. With softmods, the xbox still boots exactly as an untouched retail one, it just tells the xbox to load a different dashboard than the standard M$ one. Your box is fine for now, unless you start deleting stuff! If you need further input on anything to do with it now that you have softmodded it, look around the forums or just ask me. XD Yeah, like DanandJen posted, you're Xbox is fine. Just don't do anything crazy like moving dashboard files around and deleting important files on the hard drive.
