Bitcomet and IE7/Vista Problem

I just recently purchased a Dell E1505 with windows vista pre loaded. Everything was going well with my applications until I got to Bitcomet. When I have Bitcomet running and downloading files my IE displays it "can't display the webpage" for any web site I try to go to. It acts like there is no internet connection but meanwhile Bitcomet is still continuing to download so the connection is obviously there. I used the Vista diagnose a problem tool and it told me something about port 80 maybe being remotely blocked... I have tried changing firewall settings, port fowarding, etc. I will appreciate any and everything that can help.
