i am currently using bitcomet to download torrents, but my downloads are not as fast as i would like them to be. So, i tried switching to bittornado. i kept getting the yellow light so i checked my port status at www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and found that my ports were closed. then, i opened bitcomet and the ports were open. Does anyone know why it does this? Because i want to try other clients, but bitcomet seems open and close my ports depending on wheter it is open or not.

    Thanks, Bshake

make sure that there are no firewalls or internet security, they mess up the clients. i always used the bittornado and it never gave me problems. maybe having 2 clients messes up the ports
i am not sure for i am a newbie as well. just check with the seniors before you do someting drastic.

most likely the two programs use different ports to connect.

You can check with ports they use on the preferences page, and also choose which ports you want it to use.
