When "trying" to edit any video in Nero Vision 5 the edit screen turns black making it impossible to edit the video. Everything else seems ok. I uninstalled Nero 8 using the Nero Clean Tool and reinstalled to no avail...I am running Windows Vista Home Premium (probably 99.9% of the problem).
If someone is familiar with this problem I could sure use some help.

Chances are your input video is in an "unsupported" format or something daft like that... or fista has enabled it's anti-home movies drm.

Do you just want to do simple cut/join type edits?.. avidemux will do those, and will also possibly help narrow down where the problem is. If that doesn't display the video either then.......

nero8 plus fista... what a lovely combination

    varnull....

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded avidemux and it works perfectly. I am new to DVD recording, editing etc. and am not up on all the tools quit yet. Regardless I still think Nero should function as claimed. Thanks again.
