I asked about what is the recommended brand of DVD media to use for my VHS tapes.
    Some suggested this:
    Verbatim 4.7GB 16X DVD+R 100 Packs Spindle Disc Model 95098

    But, that is DVD+r

And a very well informed person said the best to use is DVD - r not + r.

What are your experiences and suggestions?

Either DVD+R or DVD-R Verbatim disk is good - as long as the package says 'AZO' (referring to the dye used).
Don't buy the cheaper Verbatim 'Life Series' disks.
If you wanted a dual layer, 8.5 GB disk for DVD, you would opt for the Verbatim DVD+R.
