I just installed the xecuter 2.3b lite and when I turn my xbox on the screen is blank. If I turn off my chip however then it starts up normal. Please help
This is normal... if the dvd-drive doesn't open within 60 seconds then press A and it should open... if it does insert the CD with the bios you want to flash your chip with then press A to close the drive... wait until the xbox turns off and then when you'll boot again you'll go to the normal screen and you'll be able to play backups!
When I turn xbox on the disc opens in about 5 sec. I then put disc in and press A button but nothing happens. So i press the button on xbox to have it go in. It goes in but just sits there for about 20 sec. and doesnt turn off but ejects the cd instead. Any ideas anyone?
Forgot to mention that when chip is off it starts normal but after 15 sec. it goes to the service screen
Try using different media for the bios disc and maybe put a DUMMY.BIN file of 200meg+ (can be anything). Also try to rename the bios to LINUXBIO.BIN and make sure the bios is the correct size for your chip
Something is wrong. The disk tray should open but you should have a screen. Whilst the bios may flash ok if you make a good ISO, it does sound like the chip isn't in ok. I'd re-check everything inside your box.
s8nsch1ld in case you didn't know, there are versions of the xbox that have a video chip not supported by Cromwell so that's why nothing is on the screen. By the way an other reason for this is that you are not using the original AV cables that came with the xbox
Very true Mike, but he also said "When I turn xbox on the disc opens in about 5 sec" and the fact that it only opens for 5 secs may indicate a problem. My Xbox tray was open for 20 mins while i sorted stuff out. If the chip has a loose connection it would cause it to send reset signals down and that could shut the tray. Not sure about the AV cables mind. I believe you if that's what you are telling me but AV cables should work or not work, they are very simple bits of kit. Peace _X_X_X_X_X_[small]S8nsCh1ld!!! I am using the original cables and so for the confusion but the tray opens in about 5 sec. but it does stay open unless i push the button to go in. I did re-check all the solder points and they are all in correct. What are you suppose to do if your xbox dosent reconize the cromwell then?
The xbox recognize it but it won't show anything on screen but that ain't really important. Keep trying to make your bios CD with different CD-RW and with DVD+/-RW ... you could even try with a CD-R since they cost almost nothing (but they don't work in most cases)
