Hi all, Curious, I have a son that installs things on my pc that I dont want on. Actaually I dont want him installing anything. Is there a program that password protects the win.. installer? Or anything to the kind? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again
you could always create a new user for him, give him his own password, and disable administrative functions so he can only use the computer, and not tamper or alter the C drive. Control Panel > User Accounts
Hey j_holmes Well i am no expert in this, but no what it is.... Basically, depending on how your computer is setup you can actually set up a feature that prevents him from downloading and installing...kinda of like if you are a regular user on a computer at work and when you try to surf the web you get blocked (depends on the company)... But try this and it might help.... http://www.pcsoftland.com/utilities/access-control/Chaperone.htm I got this off a google search...now even though it costs money, you can definately do it free, but i am not too sure how...an admin/moderator/or another experienced person might be able to help you out. But if you are looking for a program to actually buy...this might be useful.
Thanks for the reply venomX05 & djscoop. I found an app (winguard pro 2005) that seems to be doing the trick. Has a lot of great features. Check it out: http://www.winguardpro.com/index.html Thanks again
