hello, you know when you get speakers it's more important to get a decent system for optimal sound, does the same count for bluetooth. for example if you've got a bluetooth headset with earphones.

imagine this situation, you pair you phone with a bluetooth device which has stereo earphones connected to it. the phone is the system and the earphones are the music reproducers. does the bluetooth device count as a secondary system and affect the audio being played? (no equalizers or anything. just generally speaking.)

i know that when you play via bluetooth through a car's speakers, the radio counts as a second system.

    thanks,

    hi daacekin!

hmmm yes and no. it depends on what you call a 'system'.

the phones player decodes the audio file (from mp3 or whatever) into a pcm audio stream which it sends to the phones bluetooth system, the bluetooth encodes it into digital packets and transmits it across r.f. (bluetooth) to the device which it is paired with, which in turn decodes the digital packets back into a pcm audio stream, which is then sent to the sound output device (speakers or headphones)...

so the bluetooth is actually 2 'systems' decoder and encoder. or it is none because the bluetooth only decodes digital packets of uncompressed data, which will be in the same quality as when they left the phones player...

i just found out that the phone no longer counts as a system. the bluetooth device is a single system and because all bluetooth devices are simple with no advanced features, it's kinds rubbish. perhaps sony ericssons "system" can make sound great again but generally speaking, your music jst becomes a basic audio player. how annoying. so much for technology.

basically, it's just like sending an audio file to someone via bluetooth. meaning, any equalizers are disabled. and depends entirely on the simple bluetooth device

i just want to clarify what i said above because it isn't entirely correct.

the bluetooth IS a system. if you have the hbh-ds200 bluetooth device then the phone is a full system too. (equalizer and vol control enabled)

but if you have the bt3030, then the phone is either a partial system or not at all. (equalizer and vol control disabled)

in all cases, the bluetooth counts as a primary sound system so for those of you who like listening to music, get a very good bluetooth device.

(extra) - the hbh-ds200 sounds BIG! that's all i can say to describe it. i'm guessing because this device has dsp, which contains compression cancellation, it sounds big and excellent. sure, i've heard deeper bass from earphones but this definitely sounds better and has a new bass experience.

i would advise people to get the hbh-220 but if you have in-ear earphones, then you can save a bit of cash and get the hbh-ds200. it has cheaper earphones but the main unit appears to be the same.

this post is meant to be as a guide for people who are thinking of buying a music bluetooth device. hope it helps
