This is the first time I try to back up xbox game and already wasted 5 dvd-rs. Did mostly everything how it’s supposed to be but xbox still can’t recognize disk. First I copy game to xbox hard disk, then ftp to my pc using flash fxp, then create iso files with few different software including qwix. Then I use Nero and RecordNow max to burn on Ritek 4x DVD-R using 1x speed. Using MSI dvd-rw. Please help. P.S. I used NFSUnderground.

try to FXP directly from the xbox dvd drive (D:) - and are you patching the xbe files? not sure if you have a newer bios that eliminates the need for patching most games, but it never hurst to patch it anyway. i recommend craxtion for making the ISO's, it has a handy little xbe patcher built in.

Thanks for replay. I'm going to try backing up directly from drive D: Didn't patch file and don't know do i need to do 'couse using an EvoX M7ej. I have a IsoCraxtion ver.2 but there is four files and don't know how to start that and does it need to be done in dos or not. Thanks.

it runs from windows, you can get the newest version from craxtion.com, i dont think you need to with that bios, but i would anyway. what chip do you have?

About a chip I think its Aladdin advance. Just downloaded new version of Craxtion, will try in next hour, I hope it will work. One more thing, was checking my blank dvd-rs, and there is a line on them going all around about 5mm from center of the disk. Is that normal or what? Have two different types of dvd-rs. Thanks

sure, dont try to burn a dvd-iso, kill the wizard if it comes up and just go to "file" then "burn image" and direct it at your ISO. then burn it

Dont make the ISO at all there is no need for it.. Burn the disk as a DATA disk, Track at once (closed),File system type UDF Up to 128 in filename length ,any char, plus 8+3 tree (bridge) This will work. Unless you just want to make a ISO out of the game there is no need for it. Just FTP the files to your PC hard drive and burn.. If you have RecordNow that is what you want to use with the above settings. and slow your burn down

Thanks Motomatt will try that option too. Also thanks Darthnip, with your help I finally burnt my disk, but it looks I have problem also with dvd media 'couse xbox sometimes recognize dvd sometimes not at all ( same one, I used one called SHINTARO), also I used another one someone recommended that one as the best brand for xbox, it's RITEK ( General Version 2.0, 2x/4x for Data ) but that doesn’t work at all. Any recommendation about dvd-R media for xbox. Is the Princo any good, or MAXDAta. Thanks guys one more time.

I use Princo and DVDPro, which happen to also be very cheap. they are 1x discs but i can burn them at 2x since i upgraded the firmware in my burner ;)

I have a new burner which is MSI DR4-A which is a dual burner and support speed up to 4x so I was thinking PRINCO also. Just checked burner web site and it is also one of compatible and recommended disc for this burner. Thanks for that. Will try.

I bet you have a Phillips version DVD drive (like me) It's the most picky out of all the drives made for the XBOX. If you get yourself a Verbatim disk burned at 2.4X I am almost positive it will work.. I had a disk that I burned when I first starting backing up my games that loaded once and never again..(crazy stuff) try a verbatim and see what happens
