Hi, I've created mpeg2 files from a DVD using DVDx and the files playback fine. Then using Nero, I created an SVCD using the mpeg2 file. After adding the file, analysis shows that the file is acceptable BUT somehow the added filesize have shrunk by almost 100MB!! After writing the CD, the movie just won't play with error messages indicating unsupported file format. Please help ... thanks in advance!

All I know is you can only get 40mins maximum playtime onto one SVCD disc so if the file size is larger you will have problems.

You can get a lot more than 40 mins onto a vcd! Especially if its vbr SVCD then you could get up to about 80 minutes!

shouldn't Nero inform me if the mpeg file is too big and the video has been shorten to fit to cd? On average the mpeg file i use to create the svcd is about 745MB and the cd-r used is 80mins.
