i installed ubuntu a while back on a seperate hdd but then even after formatting and reinstalling windows grub is still there so i cant boot into windows. how can i get rid of grub?
When you are installing windows you should be able to select partitions and delete them. Just delete all other partitions then you will be left with one. Install windows on that one partition.
You have to do a fixmbr, to get rid of the grub bootloader information still residing in the MBR. That should fix your problem. http://www.aboutdebian.com/dualboot.htm
