boot up problems with windows xp

    hello, i would be very greatful if someone who is up on windows xp could help me out with a problem please,i was just trying to add another internal harddrive to my pc but ,when i went to boot it up , the screen wasntnt the usual windows boot up screen ,it was a black screenstateing that there was a problem strarting up and it says choose eather safe mode ,safe mode with networking,or safe mode with command prompt,but when i ytr to move my curser on to one of these ,the curser does not move ,its as if the pc is not reconiseing the keypad etc,ihope anyone who knows alot about computers can please help me out with this issue,i also ment to add that a large white thick line run across the bottom of the screen as is there all the time,

    Can you get into BIOS? If you can check if the drive shows correctly there.

    In bios: Set the "USB keyboard support" to "Bios" or "Enabled" Otherwise windows will not see the keyboard untill it is all booted up. Also, some boards have a glitch where this does not work on reboot, only when starting up from a full shut down.
