flashed my matrix chip and installed it just right so that it constantly flashed green and screwed it in. Then when I turned my xbox off and plugged everything back in began to reassemble things my matrix chip began flashing both red and green at the same time. I took everything out and tried moving it around to get it back to green flashing mode, but all i ever get is both red and green(never all red or all green always both). If I take the chip out and plug everything else back in my xbox runs fine as normal, and if I boot up the xbox with the matrix chip flashing red and green it runs fine but never recognizes the matrix chip as being installed(no matrix under the xbox logo). Please advise me on how i can get my chip back to flashing green.
to my knowlege the matrix logo comes out after u install evolution X... not when u install the modchip.. u need the modchip to install evolution X emails address removed from sig
Ok so I got the mod chip flashed and blinking green again inside my xbox with the Red Evo bios. I can run it on mode 2 and mode 3 and the xbox boots up just like normal except for the green xbox logo at the start is now RED. Now I am trying to burn a cdrw with the evox dashboard and am stuck in getting my xbox to recognize the disc. My xbox beginning screen turned red so that means my matrix chip is active at least right(I know evox isn't installed)?
yeah the red logo means the bios on the chip is active. how are you making and burning the iso for evox?
I made an xiso of the Evo x folder(V1_8_3752) with the skin folder, evox.ini, and default.xbe. Then I have burned that xiso via Nero and EZ CD Creator on multiple brands of both CDRW and CDR(Closed Disc, Data CD-I went over everything and I don't think I'm missing anything). Each time I have powered up the xbox with the disc already inside, and past the red xbox beginning screen it just boots up normal to the 3 options screen and says dirty disc error. I have used fujifilm, pioneer, GQ, and a few other brands. My main questions are will ONLY CDRWs work(so I should stop trying to load CDRs) in burning an xiso? and Does the loading up the disc with filler data technique work/and what is the best way to do it? Any other tips are greatly appreciated, THANKS
yeah it has to be cdrw, they wont read cdr's hardly if ever. maybe you should try slayers auto installer, it'll install evox for you.
Yes CDRWs and you will need to buy or borrow from friends several different brands I went through several that were listed out here as being GOOD but I have only found that the white paint Memorex CDRW and Smart and Friendly work in my xbox. I used Maxell, Verbatium, Great Quality (cheap no lable from FRy's), TDK, and a no white paint memorex and none of them work in mine.
i got it to work on an Imation cdrw, and i'm about to put slayer's 2.1 on a 3inch cdrw and see if that works.
Did you guys try the filler technique to pump up the data levels to get it to load evox, or did you just only have the evo x folder iso(the 3 megs one) on your xiso cdrw? Also how many tries with the working iso cdrw did it take? I will go out tommorow and buy some more brands of cdrw and try new making xisos. -One quick question are the X2 bios so vastly better than Evo D6 that I should flash over my Red D6 matrix chip?
