Hi, I moved BoxT to another house, but it doesn't work, i get rte1, and tv3, the rest say data updating. help
supposing everything is in order press menu installation should be highlighted then type 1570 on youre remote at the bottom of this page you will see key emu turn to on then exit and exit again
Hi J. Tried everything i know. reset it, no good. why does it say updating data, north clare area J.O.L.
go to into secret menu again and press set default key exit and go to any sky sports channel and leave it to update
Hi J. I have a big problem, i put all codes to 00, saved it, emu on. and the same thing happening. rte1 and tv3 on, all the rest updating. Is there a problem with the box. JOL
why did you set them all to 00 all you where asked to do was press the set default key on your box and make sure your emu is switched on do that again and dont touch anything else also what area are you in can you tell me as 99% of areas are now N3 which means the box will not work
ok do you know if anyone near you has a box you could check with them also when you say you get the code update on your screen can you see it sort of flickering ?? if so try a few channels as you will have to try and get it to update on one of them are you on the direct feed coming into the house where the power downconverter is ??
It updates from 0% to 200%, and starts again. My point is it does this when all codes are set at zero.
j do as e45 said go channel by channel i know this can be tiresome but be patient make sure the antenna has a clear sight of the transmitter no trees chimneys etc. in the way what do you mean by all codes are at zero?
go yo system info and tell me what API version is on your box also if you are scanning on a cable that has a splitter on it you will have this prob you need to be scanning the box at the direct feed
api ver 5.01 E Boot ver 7.0 and to make tings worse have new boxT coming tomorrow. can get ch south, and info channel
There is no such thing as the Box T now they stopped making that box well over a year agi so you must be getting someone's left over stock as there will never be any support for that box as its no longer in production. Here is the software and the loader the latest one available put that on your box and try it might work for you. BoxT Firmware here Loader Here
well first you will need everything below 1 Null modem cable (rs232 cable) 2 the firmware that i put on here 3 the loader to load the firmware 4 comport on your pc and when the new box arrives you are going to have the same prob with that as the box do not have software loaded
Null Modem Cable http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6 If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable. USB Adapter http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased a lot cheaper on fleabay. Updating Firmware Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY. (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM) Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used Make sure App file only is selected, then click b1n File & browse to the firmw@re where you downloaded it to on your PC. Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC. Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE p0p up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starview will then reboot Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV To see which port your USB adapter is connected to, connect your USB adapter and follow the following instructions: 1. Go to the Start Menu 2. Right click on "My Computer" 3. Select "Properties" 4. Click on the "Hardware" tab 5. Click on "Device Manager" 6. Click the + sign next to "Ports (COM & LPT)" 7. One of the listed ports should indicate which port your USB adapter is connected to (e.g. COM1, COM2, COM3, etc.) 8. Go back to your map software program that you use to transfer data and make sure it is looking at the correct port. 9. You should be able to transfer data once the correct port is selected If you need drivers go here http://www.gilsson.com/usb_drivers_download.htm Follow my advice to step 7. Locate your USB Adapter (port *) Right click on that port and select properties. Then select port settings, then select advanced. At the bottom of that tab will be a drop down box with the port selected (port * in your case). Use the drop down to select another port (eg 1, 2 or 3). If the port you want to use is already allocated to something else, you can use the same procedure to reassign that port after you have finished. Save the selections in the usual way. The USB converter will be permanently assigned to the port you selected.
Thank you for all your help. I will try it tomorrow when i get the cable. I will let you know the out come. j
Make sure you get the correct NULL MODEM cable as there is 2 of them rs232 straight and rs232 cross over cable you need the cross over null modem one
