Yeah, the new Ritek type J phthalocyanine media is excellent, one of the best discs around. IMHO it puts Ritek finally up there with the best like TY and Mitsui. Very high quality media...

Disc Type, Material = CD-R, Phthalocyanine ATIP Lead-in = 97m 15s 17f Norminal Capacity = 702.83MB (79m 59s 73f) Disc Manufacturer maybe = RiTEK,TG SMART-BURN Speed Limit = 40X I am very disappointed with these disks. There are tens of thousands of C1 errors in the outer region beyond 74 mins, no matter I burn it at 16x, 24x, 32x or 40x. Perhaps I am too unlucky that it is a bad batch.
I bought the new Samsung CD-R80 Premium discs. Well, the label surface is silver and looks very stylish. http://www.samsungmedia.com/html/products/img/i_cdr_8032x.gif But when I did an ATIP read, I'm not sure if this is a good buy : ATIP: 97m 27s 19f Disc Manufacturer: Plasmon Data Systems, Ltd. Reflective layer: Dye (Short strategy; e.g. Phthalocyanine) Media type: CD-Recordable Recording Speeds: min. unknown - max. unknown nominal Capacity: 702.83MB (79m 59s 74f / LBA: 359849) How is Plasmon ?
The 40x disks look similar to these 32x http://www.samsungmedia.com/html/products/img/i_cdr_8032x.gif but the top surface is opaque instead of white.
