To rip the clips from my camcorder to my PC I use Ulead VideoStudio 8. It gets em to my hard drive no bother, but a couple of the clips/tapes have come out dark. What is the best software to brighten up my clips. Thanks
VirtualDub or VirtualDub-Mpeg2 has a brightness filter that can be used on AVI files (or Mpeg files that are to be saved as AVI).
I've tried VirtualDub, it did brighten up my 1.6GB clip but when I saved it the resulted file size turned out to be 36GB big. What, if anything, am I overlooking. Am wanting the end result to fit on a DVDr. Any help would be great.
After setting the filter, try setting compression. Video>Full Processing>Compression>XviD Audio>Full Processing>Compression>Lame MP3 and choose the settings similar to the source(File > File Information, look at audio stream) If it says Sampling rate 44100Hz, Data Rate 128,Stereo, select the same. XVid Codec http://www.xvid.org/ Lame MP3 codec http://users.tpg.com.au/mtam/install_lame.htm How to install lame codec. http://users.tpg.com.au/mtam/install_lame.htm Or set Video and Audio to direct stream copy (not sure what you will get.I don't know what the source is or if it has to be saved as avi) VirtualDub saves files as AVI.
