I just wanted to ask you if you could help me i want to get tiscali broadband the 2mg speed one in the uk but it has limited usage allowance of 15gb would this limit be used while downloading from a p2p sharing programe. so how much you download with the p2p sharing programe will be taked away from the 15gb usage allowance.

I would go ANYWHERE other thn tiscali. I had number of problems and when I checked their forums there seemed to be a hell of a lot of unhappy customers. Personnally I go with aol, and haven't found them too bd. Any download limit will be used in no time, you will be surprised by how much you will download when you get the chance. Tiscali do offer an "unlimited" service but if you get too much they restrict your downloading (effectively download limit!).

When did you last check the UK Online availability I thought by the end of June all lines would be able to support 8mb, and if your line can then the 2mb is £19.99 and 8mb for £30. http://ukonline.net
enter your postcode and phone number to find out.

Man you guys are damn lucky, i pay $39:95 AUD for 512/128 broadband internet with a mesly 400MB download limit after thats used speed goes to dialup so we dont have to pay for downloads. I think its an extra $29 AUD for 1500/512 i think. :( ( a good thing is i get 3 months free broadband every year )

I would love to have the plans your on :)

NTL are also updating all their 1mb or 2mb services to 10mb free of charge at same rate.

    I'm on BT 2.2meg line, unlimited downloads. I think it's £26.99 a month.
(I pay direct debit, don't really know how much it is!!) I have only ever been offline once in 2 yrs for about 10 hrs. My mates on NTL, always had loads of connection problems though.
I would recommend BT to anyone, mainly for reliability. I prefer quality of service, not some half-assed bunch of morons who think they can provide a service!

I joined tiscali a month ago, and use p2p software. i havent met the monthly cap or anything, yet they are limiting the p2p traffic! can only download at 6KBS. i hate tiscali already and have realised that signing with them was a HUGE mistake and now i want to cancel the contract. but it seems to do that i'd end up paying £150. damn. i'm trapped. ant ideas?
